Usage

The figure gives an overview of the components from a TeamDraw enabled system. A common IRC server is needed for plain text as well as the graphical communication. To enable the graphical communication, a bot is needed to take control over the hosts and drawings.

TeamDraw user

A TeamDraw user needs the client to enter a TeamDraw enabled server.
For example:
IRC Server: teamdraw.dnsalias.org
Join the channel #graphics

After the successful connection into a channel, a drawing can be selected or a new one created.

TeamDraw bot

The optimal way to have an IRC server TeamDraw enabled, is that the IRC server administrator runs the TeamDraw bot (figure reference A.). However, it is possible to run TeamDraw without the support of the IRC server administrator. Any TeamDraw user can run the TeamDraw bot (figure reference B.). To start the TeamDraw bot, run first the command to create the default settings:
./tdrbot --create-settings

The settings file "/home/tux/.tdr/tdr_botrc" must be refined. For a detailed description about the available settings see the technical documentation.

IRC server administrator

To have optimal performance for the graphical communication, the "Excess flood" needs to be optimized or even turned off. For an IRC server, Chunky Monkey IRCD is recommended. Turn off the excess flood, drop me a mail for details on that issue.
